Ocular discomfort

Altial is a sterile, multi-dose tear substitute with pre-dosed drops that can be used for corneal protection. The product is transparent and viscoelastic. Altial can be used to moisturise and lubricate the surface of the eye, especially in cases of: dry eyes or minor non-pathological disorders such as burning, redness, itching and eye fatigue caused by various factors such as stress, dust, smoke, dry air, smog, wind, bright or artificial light, prolonged use of computer screens, use of hard or soft contact lenses, exposure to the sun, insufficient night-time rest, long periods of driving.

ALTIAL® COMPLETE Eye Drops are a medical device for ophthalmic use consisting of a slightly hyposmolar, sterile, physiological pH, preservative-free solution containing a combination of medium molecular weight hyaluronic acid and liposomes, in 0.5 mL single-dose vials. The liposomes, in combination with hyaluronic acid, provide functional support to the ocular surface, replenishing the lipid layer, which is used to contain and control the evaporation of the tear film. ALTIAL® COMPLETE is also able to regulate and improve the lubrication and hydration of the ocular mucosa. ALTIAL® COMPLETE Eye Drops are indicated for the relief of redness, dryness and eye fatigue in cases of dry eye syndrome, particularly those caused by the inadequate quality of the lipid layer of the ocular surface, environmental stress (dust, allergens, smoke, air conditioning, environmental pollution) and visual stress due to the use of computers, televisions and video terminals. The product can also be administered while wearing contact lenses to improve ocular lubrication and comfort.

Corneial® Gel is a sterile ophthalmic gel containing 5% Dexpanthenol. Corneial® Gel comes in a 10g tube. Carbomer has mucoadhesive properties and lubricates the eye by evenly coating the corneal and conjunctival surfaces, keeping the ocular surface comfortable. Altial® gel is indicated for the relief of symptoms of dryness, discomfort, foreign body sensation and minor irritation caused by dry eye syndrome, providing long-lasting relief. During diagnostic examinations, it can also be used as a coupling gel to maintain the shape of the cornea and minimise refraction between the patient's eye and the multi-mirror prism of the gonioscope when acquiring images with this instrument.

ALTIAL® Plus is a lubricating ophthalmic solution based on cross-linked hyaluronic acid, formulated for the treatment of ocular discomfort. Cross-linked hyaluronic acid represents a great opportunity because it is a molecule that retains all the properties of linear hyaluronic acid, but thanks to its unique structural characteristics, it has greater stability and a longer retention time in the cornea and conjunctiva. In fact, thanks to its cross-linked structure, cross-linked hyaluronic acid has a higher viscosity stability than linear hyaluronic acid and is degraded more slowly by corneal hyaluronidase. Cross-linked hyaluronic acid thus gives ALTIAL® Plus high viscoelasticity, ensuring a high degree of hydration and permanence on the ocular surface, such as to alleviate the symptoms associated with dry eye syndrome, even in severe cases. ALTIAL® Plus can also be administered for ocular lubrication during and after:

• prolonged exposure to sunlight, UV and ionising radiation;
• staying in air-conditioned environments;
• prolonged use of computers, video terminals and television;
• redness due to external agents;
• use of contact lenses.
